Most people clean their camper during spring cleaning and thoroughly clean it again before storing it for winter.
Before you start cleaning, it's important to clear everything out. Begin by going through the camper and removing anything that doesn't belong. Remove all loose dirt, put everything in its place, and make it neat and organized. Once you've done this, you can start the real work.
In addition to the two major cleanings, interim maintenance is also very important, of course. This has several advantages. You'll be in a clean caravan, which is especially hygienic. It also extends the lifespan of the interior. And it ensures that you have less to tidy up during the major cleanings!
Complete checklist for cleaning your camper or caravan
Step 1: Start with a visual inspection. Do you find any scratches or cracks?
Step 2: Start cleaning, from inside out. And from top to bottom. Vacuuming is also very important here.
Step 3: Does your camper still need to be inspected?
Step 4: Are there any broken parts or damaged surfaces that need to be repaired?
Step 5: Does the gas supply still need to be checked?
Step 6: Check the tyre tread.
Step 7: Check all electrical systems, both inside and out.
Step 8: Lubricate the locks and hinges if necessary.
Step 9: Clean and disinfect the fresh water tank and pipes.
Step 10: Check if all water taps are working.
Step 11: Check if the heating and hot water supply are functioning.
Step 12: Check all settings of the refrigerator.
Step 13: Clean the gas burner.
Step 14: Is the battery still working? Is everything charging? Are all consumers working?
Step 15: Check the gas safety system.
Step 16: And last, but certainly not least. Seal the toilet and treat it with a silicone spray if necessary.
