Cleaning your truck cabin by hand can be a lot of work. Not everyone feels like doing that, which is why you can always visit one of our branches. We will give your truck a thorough wash there.
But sometimes, as a proud trucker, you want to give your truck a little bit more; an old-fashioned hand wash! So if you have a few hours to spare soon and decide to thoroughly clean your cabin, follow the tips below for an optimal result. Because there is a little more to it than just perseverance.
What materials do you need to clean your cabin?
Starting something without thinking is never a good idea. Whatever you are going to do, preparation always ensures a better result. Therefore, make sure you have all the materials and resources to clean your cabin by hand. Here is what you will need:
• Water hose
• Two large buckets
• Car shampoo
• Sponge or a special wash mitt
• Possibly a wax and microfiber cloths
Every wash starts with a thorough rinsing of your cabin. We cannot stress enough how important this is. Please do this, otherwise you will scratch the paint. Use the water hose to rinse off all loose dirt and sand. Once you have done this, the real washing can begin.
Cabin wash by hand
Rinse, wash, rinse, wash, rinse. Repeat this until the cabin is completely clean and always wash from top to bottom. To achieve this, simply make one bucket of soapy water and one bucket of rinse water. Rinsing is the most important secret to a scratch-free truck.
Despite the good prep work with the hose, it is still best to rinse each washed piece immediately. This will really make a difference over the years when it comes to all those countless little scratches that you see in the paint of your fellow truckers, but not on you!
Wash cabin = do not dry
For the best possible result, it is important that you do not let the rinse water dry on its own. This will cause ugly water streaks. No, the finishing touch is to rub dry with a soft microfiber cloth. You do this again from top to bottom.
If you want the cabin to shine completely, use a finishing coat.
After rinsing and washing, most of the dirt is removed and your truck looks good again, but there may still be dirt in the paint. Therefore, use a polish. It helps to remove dirt quickly, removes mild imperfections and repairs oxidation, scratches and swirls.
Polish your truck regularly and it will give it an amazing long lasting shine and protection.
